Pritam Chauhan – From School Track to Podium Dreams

Pritam Chauhan – From School Track to Podium Dreams

It started on a dusty school field.

The kind of place where memories are made in PE uniforms and the air smells of ambition and muddy shoes. That’s where young Pritam first felt the thump of his heart keeping time with his strides — not just running, but racing. Chasing something more than finish lines. What began as a school race would become a life-long rhythm. That heartbeat never quieted.

And it beat loud enough to land him in the Army Sports Institute in Pune — a place known for turning raw talent into disciplined excellence.

“Set a target. Give it your best. Achieve it without injury.Rukna nahi hai.”
That’s the mantra Pritam runs by — and lives by.

“Easy Start. Steady Progress.”

Ask Pritam how he trains, and he won’t rattle off apps or gadgets. His answer is simple, like the way he runs: intentional, steady, focused.

His weeks are shaped by disciplined pacing, each run designed to serve a bigger goal. He trains with purpose, chasing not speed alone but sustainability. Because in distance running, endurance isn’t just physical — it’s mental. And for Pritam, every mile logged is a brick laid toward a higher purpose: becoming a podium finisher at the Boston Marathon in his age category.

“The goal is clear — the path, full of learning.”

The path hasn’t been smooth. Marathon preparation has tested his patience and resilience more than once. Maintaining pace, avoiding injury, staying mentally locked in during long solo runs — these are the true marathons within the marathon.

But Pritam doesn’t shy away. He embraces the grind. He respects it.
Every challenge has sharpened his will. And when asked how he keeps going on days when even getting out of bed feels like a race, he pauses — then answers with something deeper than motivation.

It's not about forcing himself to run. It's about staying connected to his why.

Running with Purpose — and for Others

Off the track, Pritam’s vision stretches far beyond his own milestones.

He dreams of promoting sports through talent hunting — especially for children who lack access but not ambition. Kids who, like him, might discover their potential through a single race at school, if only someone was there to recognize it.

And that’s who Pritam wants to be — the one who sees the spark and helps fan it into fire.

If not a runner, he says, he’d be a farmer. Grounded. Growing something from the earth up. In a way, he already is — sowing seeds of inspiration wherever he laces up.

“Boston is the dream. But the journey is the win.”

When you speak to runners chasing the Boston finish line, you often hear about clock times and splits. With Pritam, you hear intention. Passion. Presence.

His dream of standing on the Boston Marathon podium isn't just about personal glory — it's a testament to every early morning, every tough run, every setback that didn’t stop him.

He doesn’t just run to win. He runs to become.

Recovery, Routines, and the Sorgen Way

In marathon life, recovery is a ritual. And for Pritam, it’s just as serious as training.

That’s where Sorgen stepped in — not as a brand, but as a quiet companion in his journey. He first came across Sorgen at a marathon expo. Something about the socks clicked — not just comfort, but trust. It became part of his kit, not for style, but for support.

Compression socks have since played a role in keeping his muscles cared for — reducing fatigue, improving circulation, and letting him train harder, longer, and smarter.

Not a product plug. Just part of the process.

Advice for the First Timer

Pritam’s advice for new runners or first-time marathoners is beautifully simple — “Easy start. Steady progress.” No shortcuts. No rush.

Start small. Stay consistent. Don’t chase someone else’s pace — find your own rhythm. Learn to love the training. Understand your body. Trust your journey.

And above all: run happy, run safe  — and remember, rukna nahi hai.

Running Isn’t Just a Sport. It’s a State of Being.

For Pritam Chauhan, running isn’t something he does. It’s who he is — from the first school race to podium dreams, from solo runs to community dreams.

He runs with purpose, with poise, with patience. And most of all, with heart.
