The sun hadn’t fully risen yet, but a group of eager young runners were already on the track, chasing shadows and dreams. At the center of it all was a calm yet determined figure—Nitin Vibhute—guiding, coaching, and quietly clocking his own mileage. For him, every lap isn’t just a personal pursuit. It’s a promise to the children who look up to him.
“Something is better than nothing.”
That’s the line Nitin repeats to himself on the hardest days—the ones when the shoes are worn out, when the body is sore, when resources are limited. It’s not an excuse. It’s a mindset. And it's carried him from a sick 12-year-old with doctor’s warnings to a passionate athlete and coach on a mission to raise a generation of rural champions.
Nitin’s running journey started not with medals or dreams of glory, but with a diagnosis. As a child, his health took a dip, and the doctor’s advice was simple yet life-altering: prioritize exercise and diet. That moment shifted everything. He began showing up on the field. Among all the activities he tried, running made his heart race—not just from exertion but excitement. Curiosity led to study, study turned into training, and training grew into love. What began as therapy soon became his way of life.
Running with Intention
Nitin now clocks 70 to 90 kilometers a week, a schedule most runners would call intense. But for him, it’s not just about racking up distance—it’s about balance. His week includes a thoughtful mix: recovery runs, pace work, hill sessions, fartlek, gym time, and strength training. He pushes himself hardest two days a week and uses the remaining days for mindful mileage, maintaining 60–70% effort to stay injury-free.
But training doesn’t always come easy. "I don’t have the luxury of new shoes for every type of workout," he admits. "Still, I make it work. That’s what matters."
This honesty—about struggle, effort, and resilience—is part of what makes Nitin such a powerful mentor.
“Dreams don’t come true in bed.”
When asked what keeps him lacing up on days when motivation runs dry, Nitin doesn’t hesitate: “Dreams never come true by lying in bed. They will come true only when I am honest with myself.” It’s not just about him anymore. As a coach to 30–35 students, his discipline sets the tone. The future of his students depends on his consistency, and that responsibility fuels his early mornings and long runs.
A Dream Bigger Than Himself
For many, running is a personal goal. For Nitin, it’s a movement. His dream? To train children from rural areas—especially those who might quit sports for lack of guidance or support. He wants to give them more than drills and technique. He wants to give them belief.
“Many athletes drop out because no one is there to guide them properly. I want to change that,” he says.
That’s why, if his life were a movie, he’d call it Ekta Marathon—Ekta, meaning unity. "It’s not just my journey. It’s ours. Together, we’ll all win."
Guiding New Runners with Care
When offering advice to beginners, Nitin is practical and passionate. Don’t rush it. Don’t run blindly. Learn first. Train under someone experienced. Eat well. Record your times. Only when you’re truly ready should you step onto the marathon course.
“Preparation matters. It’s not just physical—it’s mental and emotional, too.”
The Sorgen Connection
Nitin’s path crossed with Sorgen through Instagram, where he connected with Ashutosh Kundalkar. “Since then, Sorgen products have become part of my essential gear,” he shares. “They’re especially helpful during pace runs, hill sessions, long runs, and races.”
But what stands out is that Sorgen isn’t just a brand for him—it’s a partner in his mission. “The way you help athletes with your quality products is inspiring. It’s not just useful—it’s empowering.”
A Coach, A Dreamer, A Runner
Nitin’s story isn’t about beating others. It’s about lifting others. In his world, winning isn’t crossing the finish line first—it’s making sure others reach it, too. His own runs are filled with effort and humility, and his coaching is grounded in care and vision.
In every sprint, in every training session, in every word he speaks to his students, Nitin carries the message that has defined his life: we run better when we run together.
